WHAT ARE THE DENTAL TEETH VENEERS?

Teeth veneers, also known as dental veneers or porcelain veneers, are thin shells of tooth-colored material. They are placed over the teeth’ front surface to improve their appearance. Veneers can be made from porcelain or composite resin. They are custom-made to fit over the teeth to create natural teeth looking and attractive smile.

Veneers can be used to correct a variety of dental imperfections, including chips, cracks, gaps, and discoloration. They can also improve the teeth’ shape, size, and alignment.

Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry option. They are durable, stain-resistant, and can dramatically improve the teeth’ appearance with relatively little preparation. However, resin veneers composite material require special care. You need to avoid biting down on hard objects, drinking red wine and maintaining good oral hygiene habits to prevent decay and gum disease.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF TEETH VENEERS?

There are two main types of teeth veneers: porcelain veneers and composite veneers.

  1. Porcelain Veneers: Porcelain veneers are made from a strong, durable ceramic material that closely resembles the natural appearance of teeth. They are custom-made to fit over the front teeth surface and require some preparation of the teeth before placement. Porcelain veneers typically require two or three appointments to complete. They can last for up to 15 years with proper care.
  2. Composite Veneers: are made from a tooth-colored resin material applied directly to the teeth and shaped by the dentist. They can be completed in a single appointment and are usually less expensive than porcelain veneers. However, they are less durable than porcelain veneers and may require more frequent replacement.

Both veneers can cover the front teeth and correct dental issues, including stains, chips, gaps, and misshapen teeth. Your dentist can help you determine the type of veneer best suits your needs and budget. Keep in mind that teeth veneers cost are not covered by insurance in most countries.
